50-minute 1:1 feedback sessions
My warm and supportive 1:1 sessions are designed to spark your inspiration and bring out the very best from your work: each is 50 minutes long, and you can submit up to 4000 words for confidential discussion. Beyond that, it's up to you. You may want to polish a stand-alone short story or focus on a chapter of a longer work; you may want to meet only once or return regularly; you may never have done work like this before or you may be a veteran. All these scenarios are fine. I'm at your disposal.
I’m a Sunday Times bestselling author with a background in museums and years of teaching, mentoring and workshopping under my belt. I learn so much from the amazing projects my students put before me and it’s a true privilege to help talent flourish: my feedback is always constructive, encouraging and judgement-free.
I specialise in literary historical and contemporary fiction, and welcome experimentation within these genres! If you write in a very different genre please check in with me before booking to establish whether we are a good fit.
How it works:
Sessions are via Zoom, and can take place during work hours or from 8pm unless otherwise arranged.
Please book no less than one week in advance of your intended session.
You’re very welcome to book a one-off session, or blocks of 3 or 5.
Submit up to 4000 words at a time for discussion. My fees include the time taken to closely read your piece at least twice: you’ll also receive written notes from me after the session.
If you’re working on a novel, I welcome a synopsis not exceeding 1000 words. This is just for my reference and not for critique!
